《张深之正北西厢》中《双文（莺莺）像》、《目成》、《解围》、《窥简》、《晾梦》和《报捷》六幅插图，堪称是明清各种出像《西厢记》皈本中带有代表性的杰作。绘图者陈洪绶（公元一五九八年——一六五二年字章侯，号老莲，浙江诸暨人。工诗词，书法格高气雅，自刨一体。善画山水、花乌，以擅长人物画驰誉艺坛，与崔子忠齐名，号称南陈北崔。他一生以非凡的热情，与木刻家亲密合作，创作出大量版画，仅就《西厢记》而言，就为三种不同版本画过插图，其中最为出色的张深之本，主题鲜明，形象生动，由当时武林（杭州）著名刻工项南洲雕版，不仅忠实地保存了原画的笔意，同时表现出特有的刀味，绘刻相得益彰，标志着我国十七世纪版画艺术的高度水平。《张深之正北西厢》原刻本传世极少，解放初杭州发现了一部，有清代鉴赏家陆士、王礼治藏印，一九五三年浙江省文物管理委员会征购，一九五四年移归浙江省博物馆珍藏。《古本戏曲丛刊》初集收录的也是原刻本，南京图书馆藏，缩小影印。两者比勘；浙博藏本卷首所刻洪绶私印完整，南图藏本此印左下角残损；浙博藏本第一卷第十二页参他本补刻，文字稍异，缺眉批，南图藏本这一页是原刻；南图藏本部分眉批文字比较清晰，但也有遗漏。两种藏本各有不足之处，可以相互补缺。

Painter Chen Hongshou (1598 AD—— 1652 AD, Zhang Hou, Lao Lian, Zhuji, Zhejiang Province) is a native of Zhuji, Zhejiang Province. He is good at painting landscapes and flowers, and is famous in the art world for his good at figure painting. He is equally famous with Cui Zizhong, and is known as Cui of the South and the North. He has worked closely with woodcarvers and created a large number of prints with extraordinary enthusiasm throughout his life, only in the West Chamber For example, he has drawn illustrations for three different versions, the most outstanding of which is Zhang Shen’s book, which has a distinctive theme and vivid image. Xiang Nanzhou, a famous engraving artist in the Wulin (Hangzhou) at that time, not only faithfully preserved the brushwork of the original painting, but also displayed a unique knife flavor. The painting and engraving complement each other, marking the high level of China’s 17th century engraving art. The original version of “Zhang Shen’s True North and West Side” has rarely been handed down. At the beginning of liberation, a copy of it was found in Hangzhou. It was collected and printed by Qing Dynasty connoisseurs Lu Shi and Wang Lizhi. It was purchased by the Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Administration Commission in 1953 and transferred to the Zhejiang Provincial Museum in 1954. The first collection of “Ancient Opera Series” also includes the original edition, which is collected in the Nanjing Library, and is reduced to photocopy. Comparison of the two; The private seal of Hong Shou engraved on the head of the book of Zhejiang Museum Collection is complete, and the lower left corner of the seal of the book of South Map Collection is damaged; The 12th page of the first volume of the Zhebo Tibetan edition is supplemented by the other edition. The text is slightly different and lacks eyebrow marks. The page of the Nantu Tibetan edition is the original engraving; The eyebrow inscription in this part of the Nantu collection is clear, but there are also omissions. The two collections have their own shortcomings, and can complement each other.
