《长恨歌》是唐朝诗人白居易的一首长篇叙事诗，作于公元806年（元和元年）。为便于读者理解这首叙事诗，画家戴敦邦对该首古诗进行绘画诠释。绘画融现实与想象为一体，极为恰切地展示了原诗对帝王爱情的讽刺与感叹。戴敦邦在1981年中国画研究院第一届画展上创作的7幅连环画基础上，花了四年时间于1985年完成了共计40幅画的《长恨歌》。此连环画册于1987年12月由辽宁美术出版社出版。
“The Song of Everlasting Sorrow” is a long narrative poem by Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi, written in 806 AD (the first year of Yuanhe). In order to facilitate readers’ understanding of this narrative poem, painter Dai Dunbang painted and interpreted the ancient poem. Painting integrates reality and imagination, perfectly showcasing the satire and lament of the original poem on the love of the emperor. On the basis of the seven comic strips created by Dai Dunbang at the first exhibition of the Chinese Painting Research Institute in 1981, he spent four years completing a total of 40 paintings of “Song of Everlasting Sorrow” in 1985. This comic book was published by Liaoning Fine Arts Publishing House in December 1987.
