戴敦邦 (1938年－)，中国现代著名国画家，自号民间艺人，江苏镇江丹徒石马乡人。1956年毕业于上海第一师范学校，任《中国少年报》、《儿童时代》美术编辑，1976年入上海工艺美术研究所，上海交通大学美术研究室副主任，后担任上海交通大学人文学院教授。曾任中国美术家协会连环画艺术委员会副主任，上海道教协会副会长和上海美术家协会常务理事。戴敦邦是蜚声海内外的中国画大家，也是深受读者喜爱的插图艺术名家，连环画家。擅画人物，工写兼长，多以古典题材及古装人物入画，作品气魄宏大，笔墨雄健豪放，形象生动传神，画风雅俗共赏。连环画代表作品有《一支驳壳枪》、《水上交通站》、《蔡文姬》、《黛玉焚稿》等，.彩色连环画有《陈胜吴广》、《逼上梁山》、《戴敦邦新绘长恨歌》等。
彩绘连环画《逼上梁山》是以抗日时期延安平剧院上演的同名平剧的剧本编绘的，故事取材于人们所熟知的古典名著《水浒》。为了使这组画既有整体感，避免将古人画成现代人，又不雷同于古代绘画作品中的形象，使之更有生活气息。戴敦邦深入研究了北宋末年农民起义的历史背景和当年北宋都城汴梁的风貌，组画采用写实的手法，使表现形式与故事内容相吻合。读了《逼上梁山》组画，令人在视野上、精神上都能受到大气画风的洗礼，给人带来精神上的美好享受。2004年，戴敦邦绘《逼上梁山》连环画原稿（16幅彩绘）在北京荣宝斋第47期艺术精品拍卖会上以22万元成交。
Dai Dunbang (1938-), a famous modern Chinese painter, self proclaimed as a folk artist, was born in Shima Township, Dantu, Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. Graduated from Shanghai First Normal School in 1956 and served as an art editor for China Youth Daily and Children’s Times. In 1976, joined the Shanghai Institute of Arts and Crafts and served as the deputy director of the Art Research Office at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Later, he became a professor at the School of Humanities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Formerly served as the Deputy Director of the Comic Art Committee of the China Artists Association, Vice President of the Shanghai Taoist Association, and Executive Director of the Shanghai Artists Association. Dai Dunbang is a renowned figure in Chinese painting both domestically and internationally, as well as a beloved illustrator and comic artist among readers. Skilled in drawing characters, skilled in both writing and writing, often incorporating classical themes and ancient costume characters into the artwork. The works are grand and imposing, with bold and bold brushstrokes, vivid and vivid images, and a style that is both refined and popular. Representative works of comic strips include “A Shell Gun”, “Water Transportation Station”, “Cai Wenji”, “Daiyu Burns Manuscripts”, etc. Color comic strips include “Chen Sheng and Wu Guang”, “Forced to Mount Liangshan”, “Dai Dunbang’s Newly Painted Song of Everlasting Sorrow”, etc.
The painted comic strip “Forcing Up Liangshan” is based on the script of the eponymous Pingju performed at the Yan’an Pingju Theater during the Anti Japanese period, and the story is drawn from the well-known classical work “Water Margin”. In order to give this set of paintings a sense of unity, avoid portraying the ancients as modern people, and not resemble the images in ancient paintings, making them more lively. Dai Dunbang conducted in-depth research on the historical background of the peasant uprising in the late Northern Song Dynasty and the style of the capital city Bianliang in that year. The group paintings used realistic techniques to match the expression form with the story content. After reading the group painting “Forcing Up Liangshan”, one can be baptized by the atmospheric art style in both vision and spirit, bringing a beautiful spiritual enjoyment. In 2004, Dai Dunbang’s original comic book “Forcing Up Liangshan” (16 color paintings) was sold for 220000 yuan at the 47th Art Boutique Auction in Rongbaozhai, Beijing.
