怀素自幼聪敏过人，有神通的天赋。在书法上更是刻苦学习，并学习了张芝、张旭的草书,也对颜真卿的楷书有深度的研究。也与李白杜甫未有，饮酒作乐，其他王公名流也愿结交这个狂僧。唐任华有诗写道:“狂僧前日 动京华,朝骑王公大人马,暮宿王公大人家,谁不造素屏,谁不涂粉壁,粉壁摇青光,素屏凝晓霜。待君挥洒不可弥忘,骏马迎来坐堂中,金盘盛酒竹叶香。十杯五杯不解意,百杯之后始颠狂————”世人对其的草书艺术成就给了极高的评价，其继承了张旭,并进行了艺术创新，形成自己独特的草书风格，并称“颠张醉素”。
这是杜甫《秋兴八首》这首七言律诗,怀素用草书将表现的如此淋漓尽致,怀素的书法艺术和文化内涵都非常的高，他也投入了感情去挥洒这篇诗词。

Ten cups and five cups did not understand, but after a hundred cups, he became crazy.” The world gave high praise to his artistic achievements in cursive calligraphy. He inherited Zhang Xu and carried out artistic innovation, Formed its own unique cursive style, known as “Dian Zhang Zui Su”.
