《奈特病理学彩色图谱》是2009年人民卫生出版社出版的图书，作者是L.MaximilianBujaGerhardR.F.Krueger。该书收入了奈特博士创作的20000多幅插图中的大部分，是最著名的世界医学巨著之一。
奈特博士于1906年生于美国纽约市。他曾在学生艺术联合会和美国国家设计院学习绘画艺术，后进入纽约大学医学院学习医学，于1931年获得医学博士学位。在学习期间，他的素描就引起了医学界的注意，并纷纷聘请他一些文章和著作绘制插图。在1933年成为职业外科医生后，奈特继续在业余时间从事绘画工作，但他最终放弃了医生的职业，全身心地投入到钟爱的绘画艺术中。在第二次世界大战期间，他在美国军队服役，退役后便开始了与CIBA制药公司（现为Novartis制药公司）的长期合作。长达45年的合作使他积累了宝贵的医学艺术财富，成为世界各国的医生和其他医务工作者十分熟悉的医学绘画艺术家。
2000年7月，Icon公司获得了奈特博士的图集，并根据新的资料对奈特博士的原作不断进行修正，并增补一些新的插图，而这些插图都是由接受过奈特博士风格训练的画家所制作的。
奈特博士的作品是用图画形象地传授医学知识的典范。l3卷《奈特医学图集》收入了奈特博士创作的20000多幅插图中的大部分，是最著名的世界医学巨著之一。《奈特人体解剖彩色图谱》于1989年首次出版，现已译为11种语言（中文版由人民卫生出版社出版），成为全世界医学及相关科学学生在学习中首选的解剖学图谱。
奈特博士的作品之所以受到人们的青睐，不仅由于其超常的美学水平，更重要的是其丰富的知识内涵。正如奈特博士于1949年所说，“……阐明主体是图画的根本目的和最高目标。作为医学艺术作品，不管绘制得多么美，艺术构思和主体表达多么巧妙，如果不能阐明其医学观点，就将失去价值。”奈特博士的绘画设计、对艺术的理解构想、观察和处理问题的方式，以及对事业的追求，全部淋漓尽致地表现在他的绘画作品中，使他的作品达到了艺术性和科学性的完美结合。
“Knight Pathology Color Map” is a book published by People’s Health Publishing House in 2009, and the author is L. Maximilian Buja Gerhard R. F. Krueger. This book, which includes most of the more than 20000 illustrations created by Dr. Knight, is one of the most famous medical masterpieces in the world.

Dr. Knight was born in New York City in 1906. He studied the art of painting at the Student Art Federation and the National Academy of Design in the United States, and then entered the Medical School of New York University to study medicine. In 1931, he received a medical doctor’s degree. During his study, his sketches attracted the attention of the medical profession, and he was hired to draw illustrations in several articles and works. After becoming a professional surgeon in 1933, Knight continued to engage in painting in his spare time, but ultimately gave up his career as a doctor and devoted himself to his beloved art of painting. During World War II, he served in the United States military, and after his retirement, he began a long-term collaboration with CIBA Pharmaceuticals (now Novartis Pharmaceuticals). After 45 years of cooperation, he has accumulated valuable medical art wealth and become a medical painting artist familiar to doctors and other medical workers around the world.

In July 2000, Icon obtained Dr. Knight’s atlas, and based on new information, it continuously revised Dr. Knight’s original work and added some new illustrations, all of which were produced by painters trained in Dr. Knight’s style.

Dr. Knight’s work is an example of using images to impart medical knowledge. The volume l3 “Knight’s Medical Atlas”, which includes most of the more than 20000 illustrations created by Dr. Knight, is one of the most famous medical masterpieces in the world. “The Nate Color Atlas of Human Anatomy” was first published in 1989 and has been translated into 11 languages (Chinese version published by the People’s Health Publishing House), making it the preferred anatomical atlas for medical and related science students worldwide in their learning.

The reason why Dr. Knight’s works are favored by people is not only due to their extraordinary aesthetic level, but also due to their rich knowledge content. As Dr. Knight said in 1949, “… clarifying the subject is the fundamental purpose and highest goal of a picture. As a medical art work, no matter how beautiful it is drawn, how skillful its artistic conception and subject expression are, if it cannot clarify its medical viewpoint, it will lose its value.” Dr. Knight’s painting design, understanding and conception of art, ways of observing and handling problems, and pursuit of career, All of them are vividly displayed in his paintings, making his works achieve a perfect combination of artistry and science.
