明末清初人吴殳所作《手臂录》是中国武术的重要文献,该书对各家枪法及单刀作了精辟的论述,其对峨眉枪尤为推崇。
《手臂录》由四卷和附卷组成。其卷一主要包括枪王说、石家枪源流述、枪根说、六家枪法说、脱化说、短降长说,卷二主要包括戳法、革法、步法、枪法微言、马家枪二十四势、枪法二十四势歌诀,卷三主要包括单刀手法说、单刀法十八势、单刀法歌诀,卷四主要包括马家枪考、沙家竿子用法说、临阵兵枪说、叉说、狼筅说、藤牌腰刀说、大棒说、剑诀、双刀说,附卷主要包括峨眉枪法并序、峨眉枪法原序、梦绿堂枪法并序、程冲斗十六枪势等内容。2006年,山西科学技术出版社以《泽古斋重抄本手臂录》之原版影印了该书。书中三处残损之处则以中华书局《丛书集成初编手臂录》补之。
《手臂录》作者吴殳(1611-1695),又名乔,字修龄,号沧尘子。明末清初著名武术家。江苏娄县(今松江)人,一说江苏太仓人。吴殳自幼习练武术,曾从石敬岩学习枪法、从项元池学习刀法、渔阳老人学习剑法,尤其对枪法深有研究。
The Record of Arms, written by Wu Shu in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, is an important document of Chinese martial arts. The book gives a penetrating exposition of various gun techniques and single swords, especially the Emei spear.

The Record of Arms is composed of four volumes and attached volumes. The first volume mainly includes the theory of the gun king, the origin of the Shijia gun, the theory of the gun root, the theory of the six gun techniques, the theory of disintegration, and the theory of reducing the length of the short shot. The second volume mainly includes the theory of stabbing, the method of changing, the method of footwork, the method of shooting, the twenty-four movements of the Ma’s gun, the twenty-four movements of the gun technique, the song of the twenty-four movements of the single knife technique. The third volume mainly includes the theory of the single knife technique, the eighteen movements of the single knife technique, and the song of the single knife technique Fuji Waist Sabre Theory, Big Stick Theory, Sword Code and Double Sabre Theory. The attached volumes mainly include the sequence of Emei Gun Technique, the original sequence of Emei Gun Technique, the sequence of Menglvtang Gun Technique, and the sixteen gun movements of Cheng Chongdou. In 2006, Shanxi Science and Technology Press photocopied the book with the original edition of “Zeguzhai Reproduced Arm Record”. The three damaged parts in the book are supplemented by the “Collection of Books” of the Zhonghua Book Company.

Wu Shu (1611-1695), the author of “Record of Arms”, also known as Qiao, has the name Xiuling and the name Cangchenzi. A famous martial artist in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. People from Lou County, Jiangsu Province (now Songjiang), and people from Taicang, Jiangsu Province. Wu Shu has practiced martial arts since childhood. He has studied marksmanship from Shi Jingyan, sabre technique from Xiang Yuanchi, and sword technique from the old man of Yuyang, especially the marksmanship.
