《醒园录》为清乾隆壬戌进士李化楠所撰的一部饮食专著。乾隆四十七年,其子李调元(乾隆癸未进士、翰林院庶吉士,历官吏部主事、广东副主考,吏部考功司员外郎、广东学政、直隶通永道)编刊成书。二零零五年夏秋之交,香港导演午马以此书为由在撰著者的家乡罗江县拍摄了电影《天下第一宴》,引起了媒体的广泛关注。本书撰著者李化楠(1713-1769),字廷节,号石亭、让斋,四川罗江人。乾隆六年中举,乾隆七年连捷进士,历官浙江余姚、秀水知县,嗣权平湖,迁沧州、涿州知州,宣化府、天津北路、顺天府北路同知。任上颇有政声,被誉为浙江第一循良,官顺天时乾隆帝嘉其为强项令,卒于官。其工吟咏,喜藏书,邻宗祠造醒园,筑书楼,“以川中书少,多购诸江浙,航来于家贮之”。所著有《醒园录》二卷,《石亭诗集》十卷,《石亭文集》六卷。生平事迹见清嘉庆《罗江县志》、吴省钦《李化楠传》,《中国文学家大辞典》清代卷(中华书局一九九六年版钱仲联主编),赖安海《李调元编年事辑附录·李化楠传》(中国文史出版社二零零五年六月)。
“Awakening Garden Record” is a diet monograph written by Li Huanan, a scholar of Renxu Scholars in Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. In the 47th year of Qianlong’s reign, his son Li Tiaoyuan (Jinshi Guiwei of Qianlong’s reign, Shu Jishi of the Imperial Academy, the chief of the Ministry of Officials, the deputy chief examiner of Guangdong, the member of the Department of Civil Service, Wailang of the Department of Civil Service, Guangdong Xuezheng, Zhili Tongyong Dao) compiled and published a book. His life stories can be found in the Annals of Luojiang County of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty, the Biography of Li Huanan by Wu Shengqin, the Qing Dynasty volume of the Great Dictionary of Chinese Literature (edited by Qian Zhonglian, the 1996 edition of the China Publishing House), and the Biography of Li Huanan, the appendix to the annual series of Li Diao’s first edition, by Lai Anhai (China Literature and History Press, June 2005).
