清乾隆五十四年（1789年）大学士阿桂等74人奉请编纂《八旬万寿盛典》，记录乾隆帝八旬生日庆典的盛大景象，庆典过后开始编纂，至五十七年十月编纂完毕这套纪实性题材版画。此为其中卷七十八至卷八十为图绘部分《八旬万寿盛典图》，清乾隆57年（1792）武英殿套印本。《八旬万寿盛典》全书分为八部分，卷一至卷四为宸章，收录乾隆帝古稀之后的御制纪念诗、文，间附编者按语；卷五至卷十七为圣德，是对乾隆帝敬、孝、勤、建、仁、文、俭、谦诸方面德行的记载和恭奉词；卷十八至卷二十为圣功，阐扬乾隆帝七旬之后平定安南、缅甸、廓尔喀、台湾、甘肃等地的武威战功；卷二十五至四十九为盛事，记载皇室五世同堂、民间户籍增加、百姓增寿、粮食增产及赐千叟宴、科第职衔、辟雍讲学、班禅入觐等情况；卷五十至卷六十一为典礼，是有关贺诞过程中的庆祝、朝会、祭告、銮仪、乐章等；卷六十二至卷七十六为恩赍，记录当年的恩诏、蠲赋、恩科、东巡、恩宴、赏赍等情况；卷七十八至卷八十为图绘，为《八旬万寿盛典图》；卷八十一至卷一百二十为歌颂，辑入皇子、臣僚、生监等的祝嘏之词。此为其中卷七十八至卷八十为图绘部分《八旬万寿盛典图》，清乾隆57年（1792）武英殿套印本，而且因为历史保存原因有部分缺页。
In the 54th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1789), 74 people including Ah Gui, a great scholar, were asked to compile the “Celebration of Longevity in Eighty Ten”, recording the grand scene of the birthday celebration of Emperor Qianlong in Eighty Ten. After the celebration, the compilation began, and the compilation of this set of documentary subject matter prints was completed in October 57. This is the painting part of the “Eight Ten Years Longevity Ceremony” from Volume 78 to Volume 80, and the printed version of the Wuying Hall in the 57th year of Qianlong’s reign (1792) of the Qing Dynasty. The whole book is divided into eight parts. Volume I to Volume IV are Chen chapters, which contain the imperial commemorative poems and articles after the ancient times of Emperor Qianlong, with the editor’s notes between them; Volume Five to Volume Seventeen are holy virtues, which are records and tributes to Qianlong Emperor’s virtues in respect, filial piety, diligence, construction, benevolence, literature, thrift and modesty; Volume 18 to Volume 20 are holy deeds, illustrating the military achievements of Emperor Qianlong in pacifying Annam, Myanmar, Gurkha, Taiwan, Gansu and other places after the 70th anniversary of Emperor Qianlong; Volumes 25 to 49 are grand events, recording the five generations of the royal family in the same hall, the increase of civil registered residence registration, the increase of people’s life, the increase of food production, and the banquet for thousands of old people, the title of the imperial division, Pi Yong’s lectures, the Panchen Lama’s pilgrimage and other situations; Volume 50 to Volume 61 are ceremonies, which are related to celebrations, court meetings, sacrificial ceremonies, luanyi, music movements, etc; Volume 62 to Volume 76 are the records of the imperial edicts, Juanfu, Enke, Dongxun, Enyan feasts, and rewards for death; Volume 78 to Volume 80 are the drawings of the “Eight Ten Years Longevity Ceremony”; Volume 81 to Volume 120 are songs of praise, which are compiled into the words of the emperor, his officials, and the prison. This is a copy of the Eighteen Ten Year Longevity Festival, which was painted in Volume 78 to Volume 80. It was printed in the Wuying Hall in the 57th year of Qianlong’s reign (1792) of the Qing Dynasty, and some pages were missing due to historical preservation.
