圆明园，始于前清帝王的江南梦想，起于明遗清华园灵秀之地，盛于乾隆年。它曾以五千二百余亩的浩阔，一百五十余盛景的惊世骇俗，处于世界园林艺术之巅。
然而闭关自守，固朽腐败的晚清，国力衰微，风光不在。终于，贪婪的英法联军肆意抢劫，火烧圆明园。凝聚百余年几代劳动人民血汗心智的世界名园，林园建筑瑰宝，化为残垣断壁，焦木荒园。强盗以杀人放火的方式迫使清廷承认屈辱的《天津条约》。
