周永祥，1910年的旧历10月21日，周永祥出生在山东潍坊。他自幼便好动，爱用脑子，每天好像有使不完的劲。父亲见他如此，便常找些朋友教他些基本的武术功夫。后来稍大些，又让他去青岛国术馆师范班学习。在那里，周永祥如鱼得水，刻苦学艺。先后师承武术大家李存义高足田鸿业老师学习形意、太极、八卦掌；随著名武术家纪炎昌学习少林拳、随梅花螳螂拳第二代正宗传人郝恒禄学习螳螂拳。
Zhou Yongxiang was born in Weifang, Shandong Province on October 21 of the old calendar in 1910. He has been active since he was young. He likes to use his brain. Every day he seems to have endless energy. When his father saw him like this, he often found some friends to teach him some basic martial arts. Later, when he was a little older, he was asked to study in the normal class of the Qingdao National Arts Museum. Zhou Yongxiang studied hard there like a fish in water. Successively learned from martial arts master Li Cunyi, Gao Zu and Tian Hongye to learn shape and meaning, Tai Chi and Bagua palm; He studied Shaolin Boxing with the famous martial artist Ji Yanchang and Mantis Boxing with Hao Henglu, the second generation authentic descendant of Plum Blossom Mantis Boxing.
