日本自从1872年才开始使用公历。之前使用的旧历根据月亮的运行规律来划分月份，和中国的农历差不多。因此，民间留下了“以月为本”的季节意识，并把相关词语作为月份的名称流传了下来。
Japan has not used the Gregorian calendar since 1872. The old calendar used before divided the months according to the law of the moon, which is similar to the Chinese lunar calendar. Therefore, the folk have left behind the seasonal consciousness of “taking the month as the basis” and handed down the relevant words as the name of the month.
