《源氏后集余情》，是三代目歌川丰国于1857-1861年创作，由《偐紫田舍源氏》衍生的二联续绘系列，全系列共38幅，版元共计4家。《偐紫田舍源氏》为作家柳亭种彦于1829-1842年创作的长篇合卷。本书将《源氏物语》作脚本，以室町时代的足利将军家为舞台，描述了足利义政的妾生子足利光氏的波澜人生。在创作之初，种彦其实并未考虑将篇幅写得过长。但未曾想一经面世，就受到了百姓的热烈追捧。造成这样“江户纸贵”的原因，不仅是引人入胜的故事情节，更在于三代目歌川丰国精心创作的表纸绘（封面画）、口绘（扉页画）及丰富的文内插绘。这些华丽精致的绘画让江户子们大呼过瘾，以至于不少人都希望能以此为主题出版一些大判浮世绘，供他们挂出观赏。之后的丰国也确实没让大家失望，他挑选出一些评价高，构图好的画作加以修改或再创作，完成了这套《源氏后集余情》。直至今日，本系列也依然广受好评，是浮世绘藏家津津乐道的话题之一。《源氏后集余情》中出现的卷数和卷名，虽大都与《源氏物语》中相对应的帖数帖名相同。但由于其故事为另一底本，所以画中的人物及相关情节与《源氏物语》有所差异。在作品简介中，会对此情况一一说明，并将所对应的《源氏物语》人物名在括号内标出。
“The Afterward Collection of Genji” is a series of two-piece paintings derived from the three-generation song Chuan Fengguo in 1857-1861. The series has 38 pages and 4 editions. “The Genji of Zi Tian She” is a long volume written by the writer Liu Ting Zhongyan in 1829-1842. This book uses the Tale of Genji as a script, and takes the general’s house of Zuli in the Muromachi era as the stage to describe the turbulent life of the concubine of Zuli Yizheng, Zuli Guangshi. At the beginning of his creation, Zhong Yan did not consider writing too long. But once it was introduced, it was warmly sought after by the people. The reason for this “high price of paper in Edo” is not only the fascinating story, but also the carefully created surface paper painting (cover painting), mouth painting (title page painting) and rich text insertions of the three generations of Muge Chuan Fengguo. These gorgeous and exquisite paintings have made Edozi so addicted that many people hope to publish some great judgment Ukiyos on this theme for them to hang out and watch. After that, Fengguo did not disappoint everyone. He selected some highly rated paintings with good composition to modify or re-create, and completed this set of “Aftermath of Genji”. To this day, this series is still widely praised, and is one of the topics that Ukiyoshi collectors are interested in talking about. Although the number and title of the volumes in The Aftermath of Genji are mostly the same as those in The Tale of Genji. However, because its story is another base, the characters and related plots in the painting are different from the Tale of Genji.
