《故宫博物院藏文物珍品大系·藏传佛教造像》是2003年上海科学技术出版社出版的图书，作者是王家鹏。勇敢智慧的藏族人民创造了有着鲜明民族特色和独具地域特征的藏传佛教造像艺术。藏传佛教神灵众多,形象奇异,既有源于印度晚期佛教的密教金刚乘、时轮乘诸神,也有西藏原始本教神,又有汉地及蒙古神祇,其造像内容丰富多彩。造像所用材质有泥、石、木、金铜等,而其中最具代表性的当数金铜佛造像。一千多年来,各民族工匠们制作了大量金铜佛像,充分体现了藏传佛教造像的艺术成就。故宫作为明、清两代皇宫,由于历史的机缘庋藏了大量的藏传佛教金铜佛造像,成为中国除西藏地区之外藏品最丰富的国家博物馆。这些藏品原为清宫旧藏,汇聚了各地的藏传佛像精华,主要是西藏、蒙古等地的贡品和元、明、清三代的宫廷作品,不仅时代跨度大、产地多,集中反映了藏传佛教造像的发展脉络,显示出不同时代、不同地区的造型特点与艺术成就,而且蕴涵了丰富的历史文化信息,在中国藏传佛教造像研究中具有无可替代的地位。
