石桥寺，又称方广寺，位于浙江天台县莲花峰下，首建于梁武帝天监二年，历经兴废，明代崇祯年间重建。《天台山志》记载了五百石刻罗汉像的情况，《石桥五百尊罗汉像》为该寺的石刻罗汉像拓本，约拓于清代嘉庆时期，拓印极为精美，栩栩如生，人物的表情高古，衣带当风，是中国古代著名的人物画。此拓本《石桥五百尊罗汉像》应拓于清嘉庆时期，有嘉庆三年（1798）常州知府胡观澜跋。
Shiqiao Temple, also known as Fangguang Temple, is located at the foot of Lianhua Peak in Tiantai County, Zhejiang Province. It was first built in the second year of the Tianjian reign of Emperor Wu of Liang Dynasty, and was rebuilt during the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty. “Tiantai Mountain Annals” records the situation of 500 stone Arhat. “Five hundred Arhat on Stone Bridge” is the rubbings of stone Arhat in the temple, which was extended to the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. The rubbings are extremely exquisite and lifelike. The characters’ expressions are high and the clothes are fashionable. It is a famous figure painting in ancient China. This rubbing of “Five Hundred Arhat Statues on Stone Bridge” should be extended to the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, including the postscript of Hu Guanlan, the prefect of Changzhou in the third year of Jiaqing (1798).
