1950年10月，华东画报社出版了一本名为《解放前后大不同》的漫画书，以漫画形式概括了解放前后社会生活的大不同。其创作目的是“唤起人们对于造成过去那无限丑恶的国民党反动派和帝国主义，特别是美帝国主义的憎恶，从而对于今天的新气象，给予珍视与热爱，进而培养创造更好的将来的信心与热力”。
