小念头是咏春拳的第一套拳。练习小念头之目的是使初学者了解肘部的正确位置、中线攻防的要领以及简而精的攻防动作和方法。小念头可称为咏春拳中的代表套路,在这套拳中,习者可以充分地学习咏春拳中所有的攻防之法。
练习此拳时必须做到全身放松,意念集中,摒除杂念;舌顶上腭,呼吸自然;提肛、收臀,两脚始终保持原地不动;出手时注意运用巧力,力轻意重。缓缓地练习,从头至尾8分钟,方可收功。能够持之以恒地练下去,习者会自觉精力充沛,劲略大增,功力深厚无比。
在实战搏击中,小念头的手法具有很强的实用性,关乎过招时的成败。所以,习练者要严格按照动作要领去苦练,熟练掌握小念头的手法,这样才能有助于日后黏手的练习,尽快过渡到较高深阶段。

The purpose of practicing small ideas is to enable beginners to understand the correct position of elbows, the essentials of central line attack and defense, and simple and precise attack and defense actions and methods. Small ideas can be called the representative routine of Wing Chun Quan, in which learners can fully learn all the offensive and defensive methods of Wing Chun Quan.

When practicing this boxing, you must relax your whole body, concentrate your mind and eliminate distractions; Tongue top and palate, breathing naturally; Lift your anus and buttocks, and keep your feet still; Pay attention to the use of skillful force when shooting. Practice slowly for 8 minutes from start to finish. If you can practice it persistently, the learner will feel energetic, slightly stronger, and profound.

In actual combat, the technique of small ideas is very practical, which is related to the success or failure of the game. Therefore, the trainer should practice hard in strict accordance with the action essentials and master the technique of small ideas, so as to help the practice of sticking hands in the future and transition to a higher and deeper stage as soon as possible.
