秦始皇（公元前259年——前210年）是我国古代新兴地主阶级最杰出的代表。他崇尚法家，反对儒家，适应人民群众要求统一的愿望，结束了诸侯割据混战的局面，进一步扫除了奴隶制残余势力，创建了我国历史上最早的多民族统一的中央集权的封建国家，是统一中国的第一个人。他在政治、经济和思想文化领域中大胆革新，狠狠打击了反动奴隶主阶级的复辟势力，是一个厚今薄古的专家。

Qin Shi Huang (259-210 BC) was the most outstanding representative of the emerging landlord class in ancient China. He advocated Legalism, opposed Confucianism, adapted to the people’s desire for unity, put an end to the situation of feudal separatism and chaos, further eradicated the remnants of slavery, and created the earliest centralized feudal state with multi-ethnic unity in Chinese history. He was the first person to unify China.
