孔门七十二贤指的是孔子的弟子，儒家杰出代表。孔子是中国古代著名的思想家和教育家，也是儒家学派的创始人。《史记·孔子世家》记载：“孔子以诗、书、礼、乐、教，弟子盖三千焉，身通六艺者七十有二人。”这“孔门七十二贤”，是孔子思想和学说的坚定追随者和实践者，也是儒学的积极传播者，为历代儒家尊崇，作为榜样。
孔门十哲是孔子门下最优秀的十位学生（子渊、子骞、伯牛、仲弓、子有、子贡、子路、子我、子游、子夏）的合称。《论语.先进》载，“子曰：‘从我于陈蔡者，皆不及门也。德行：颜渊、闵子骞、冉伯牛、仲弓；言语：子我、子贡；政事：冉有、子路；文学：子游、子夏。’”
The 72 wise men of Confucius refer to the disciples of Confucius and outstanding representatives of Confucianism. Confucius was a famous philosopher and educator in ancient China, as well as the founder of the Confucian school. The Records of the Grand Historian: The Family of Confucius records: “Confucius, with his poetry, books, rituals, music, and teachings, had three thousand disciples, and two out of seventy were skilled in the six arts.” These “72 wise men of Confucius” were staunch followers and practitioners of Confucian thought and theory, as well as active disseminators of Confucianism. They were revered by Confucianism throughout history and served as role models.
The Ten Philosophers of Confucius are a collective term for the top ten students under Confucius (Ziyuan, Ziqian, Berniu, Zhonggong, Ziyou, Zigong, Zilu, Ziwo, Ziyou, Zixia). In the Analects of Confucius, it is recorded that “Confucius said: ‘From me to Chen Cai, none of them have passed the door. Virtue: Yan Yuan, Min Ziqian, Ran Boniu, Zhong Gong; Language: Zi I, Zi Gong; Political affairs: Ran You, Zi Lu; Literature: Zi You, Zi Xia.'”
