《彩环曲》为古龙早期1962年创作的武侠小说。《彩环曲》迄今为止已出版过多个版本。2013年读客图书出版了新版古龙《彩还曲》。
本书可观之处在于情节奇特，充满诡异，与中晚期古龙作品风格相距不远。
江湖传说中的黑皮铁屋住有江湖第一美人石琪，她自我闭关，惟江湖中人有妄入该屋者必死。“石观音”石琪又扬言如有人能将她请出来，她不但不再闭关，而且还嫁给这人。一时之间，江湖中人慕其美色者，趋之若鹜，可是进入该屋后，却音讯杳然，有如石沉大海。
“关外五龙”其中四龙亦慕石琪美色进入此屋，一去不回。其拜兄“入云龙”金四巧遇刚出道的少侠柳鹤亭，得其拔刀相助，毅然进入查访此事。
柳鹤亭于黑皮铁屋内先后碰上两名少女，其一自名“陶纯纯”。陶纯纯谓柳鹤亭所见另一女子为石琪。柳鹤亭面对重重机关，险死还生，最终与陶纯纯脱险，联袂行走江湖。
两人行走江湖，遇上不少“乌衣神魔”残杀武林同道之事。柳鹤亭渐觉陶纯纯言行古怪，起了疑心。在陶纯纯暗示下，“万胜金刀”边傲天自请为媒，撮合他们两人成亲。在洞房花烛夜，陶纯纯竟然因为曾练过“天武神经”而不省人事，有散功之象。柳鹤亭不知所措，就在这时，他收到一柬，叫他立时马不停蹄赶到江苏虎丘西门世家去。一个为害武林的阴谋开始败露……
本篇虽为古龙早期作品，惟情节之离奇诡异，实可与陆小凤系列、楚留香传奇并列。本书不及古龙晚作之处在于：在叙事写人时，时见显露张扬，以致读者先入为主，失去悬念。陆小凤系列、楚留香传奇已无此病。在主角的身分构想上，亦有不及。柳鹤亭是一名游侠，虽路见不平，插手管武林事，但说服力殊不及陆小凤与楚留香。他们追查悬案时，身分类似今天的私家侦探，自然顺理成章。
小说命名为《彩环曲》亦较轻率。古龙早期作品如《月异星邪》、《游侠录》亦有此病。“彩环”一语来自本书第一章：“（那女子——即真正的陶纯纯）右手无名指上，戴着一个特大的指环，在烛光下闪着绚丽的彩色。”全篇真正的陶纯纯除了首尾有出场外，所占篇幅其实不多。又“彩环”不是任何兵器，亦非借代人物，对推进情节殊无帮助。
值得一提的是，本篇的“绝代剑痴”雪衣人的造型、性格等，实为陆小凤系列“剑神”西门吹雪的滥觞。
作者简介
古龙，（1938-1985），原名熊耀华，出生于香港，幼时暂居汉口，后经香港赴台。

Colorful Ring Song “is a martial arts novel written by Gu Long in his early 1962 years. So far, multiple versions of ‘Colorful Ring’ have been published. In 2013, Reader’s Book published a new version of Gu Long’s “Cai Huanqu”.

The remarkable feature of this book lies in its unique plot, full of quirkiness, and not far from the style of Gu Long’s works in the middle and late stages.

In the legend of the Jianghu, the Black Skin Iron House is home to the first beauty of the Jianghu, Shi Qi. She shuts herself down, but anyone in the Jianghu who enters the house without permission will die. Shi Guanyin “Shi Qi also threatened that if anyone could invite her out, she would not only no longer shut down, but also marry that person. For a moment, those in the Jianghu who admired her beauty flocked to her, but upon entering the house, there was no sound, like a sinking stone in the sea.

Among the “Five Dragons outside the Pass”, the four dragons also admired the beauty of Shi Qi and entered this room, never returning. His sworn brother “Yunlong” Jin Si happened to encounter the newly debuted young Xia Liu Heting, and was helped by his sword. He resolutely entered to investigate this matter.

Liu Heting met two young girls in the black iron house, one of whom was named “Tao Chunchun”. Tao Chunchun claimed that the other woman she saw at Liu Heting was Shi Qi. Facing numerous mechanisms, Liu Heting narrowly survived and eventually escaped with Tao Chunchun to wander the world together.

The two of them wandered in the Jianghu and encountered many instances of “Wuyi God Demons” slaughtering fellow martial artists. Liu Heting gradually realized that Tao Chunchun’s words and actions were strange, and he became suspicious. Under the suggestion of Tao Chunchun, “Wan Sheng Jin Dao” Bian Aotian invited himself as a matchmaker to arrange for the two of them to get married. On the night of the bridal chamber, Tao Chunchun was unconscious due to his experience in practicing the “Tianwu Nerve” and had the appearance of dispersing his achievements. Liu Heting was at a loss, and at that moment, he received a message urging him to immediately rush to the Ximen Aristocratic Family in Huqiu, Jiangsu. A conspiracy to harm the Wulin has begun to unravel

Although this article is an early work by Gu Long, its bizarre and eerie plot can be juxtaposed with the Lu Xiaofeng series and the Legend of Chu Liuxiang. The difference between this book and Gu Long’s later works lies in the fact that when it comes to narrating and writing about people, it often reveals its grandeur, leading readers to become preconceived and lose their suspense. The Lu Xiaofeng series and the Legend of Chu Liuxiang no longer suffer from this disease. In terms of the identity concept of the protagonist, it is also inferior. Liu Heting is a ranger. Although he has encountered injustice and intervened in martial arts affairs, his persuasiveness is not as strong as that of Lu Xiaofeng and Chu Liuxiang. When they were pursuing a pending case, it was natural for them to have identities similar to those of today’s private detectives.

The title of the novel ‘Colorful Ring’ is also relatively hasty. Gu Long’s early works, such as “Moonlight Star Evil” and “Ranger Record”, also suffered from this disease. The term “colorful ring” comes from the first chapter of this book: “(That woman – the real Tao Chunchun) wears an oversized ring on her right ring finger, shining in brilliant colors under the candlelight.” The true Tao Chunchun, except for her appearance at the beginning and end, does not occupy much space. The ‘Colorful Ring’ is not any weapon or a borrowed character, and it is of little help in advancing the plot.

It is worth mentioning that the appearance and personality of the “peerless swordsman” snowclad person in this article are actually the origin of the Lu Xiaofeng series “Sword God” Ximen Chuixue.

Author Introduction

Gu Long (1938-1985), originally named Xiong Yaohua, was born in Hong Kong and temporarily lived in Hankou when he was young. He later traveled to Taiwan through Hong Kong.
