本书是《针灸治疗常见病证图解》系列中的一本。该系列以临床各科为纲，结合多年教学与临床实践，并吸收众家之长编而成，是以图解的形式对针灸治疗常见病证的归纳和总结。书中为了明确针灸穴位的位置，配有油画彩色图，使穴位定位加清楚明了，使读者在阅读文字时，可就近查阅相应的穴位位置。本书尽量减少文字数量，增加图的篇幅，体现穴位位置图解的特点。《针灸治疗常见病证图解》分六个分册，即内科分册，骨伤科分册，妇、儿科分册，五官科分册，外科、皮肤科分册和神经、精神科分册。本书为五官科分册，涉及病种43种。
张建华，上海中医药大学基础医学院解剖教研室主任、副教授、中西医结合专业研究生导师；毕业于原上海中医学院医学系；主编、副主编及参与编写的作有《常用穴位解剖基础》、《全身经穴应用解剖图谱》、《推拿临床与解剖》、《头面颈部美容保健按摩图谱》、《针灸推拿应用解剖与临床》、《中华奇穴大成》、《解剖生理学》等近三十部；在国内、外发表论文二十余篇；获**成果奖一项，上海市及华东地区科技成果奖多项。
