慨自青囊秘绝，而医失其传，末学家剽一二浮辞，谓为有得，师心而泥，瑕不掩瑜，补敝起衰于焉渺矣。余承乏平水大父自都来，顾以迈年跋涉长途，风湿侵寻，遂积为痰火之症，儿至不起。延访名医，而三晋寥寥乏人，仅以郡城郭子，洪洞王子，多方调剂，百日始痊。万难一拯，真空谷之跫音也。医关功过，厥唯重哉。郡中向有《针灸大成》一书，乃先任按台赵公遘疾，诸药医莫效，而得都门名针杨继洲三针奏愈。因感其神，洲遂出秘传，汇采名集而著梓之。及览其款治，大有捷效。惜乎！有书无传。余思医之为道，变通虽存乎人，而本源必资于学，使斯世果得其精。不唯余大父沉疴立起，获免百日之苦，且有惠于民，亦既久而且多也。第斯刻其来已远，旧版残缺浸湮，余善其书，悯其疾，故捐俸采茸而广梓之。倘有志继洲者，精习而妙施焉，未必无补于世云尔。
