占景盘，原为插花器皿。二千年前汉朝先民们使用圆形的陶盆以象征广大的池塘或湖泻，盆內安置陶树、陶楼，及陶制的小动物，以此手法象征大地蕴藏无线的生机。五代末的《清异录》载：“郭江州有巧思，多创物，见遗占景盘，铜为之，花唇平底，深四寸许，底上出细筒殆数十，每用时，满添清水，择繁花插筒中。”在日本，占景盘为一种沙盘景物，摆放景石，栽种小型花草，盘盘面覆砂，浇一水后形成自然山水景色。
The scenery plate was originally a flower arranging vessel. The flower lip is flat and the bottom is about four inches deep. There are almost dozens of thin tubes on the bottom. Every time you use it, you can add water and select flowers to insert into the tube.” In Japan, the landscape plate is a kind of sand table scenery, with landscape stones placed, small flowers and plants planted, and the surface of the plate covered with sand. After watering, the natural landscape is formed.
