Andrew Loomis (1892-1959) is a famous American illustrator, writer and art educator. He once studied in the American Art Students Union. At the age of 19, he studied painting under George Beriman. Later, he developed and extended George Beriman’s sketch painting system. He wrote several easy to understand painting teaching books from a unique unit perspective, which had a great impact on contemporary sketch education.
