The preface of Encyclopedia of Dinosaur and Prehistoric Animal Knowledge (hardcover) gives an overview of fossil, evolution and prehistoric animal knowledge. The book is divided into four major units, including fish and invertebrates, amphibians and reptiles, dinosaurs and birds, as well as mammals and their ancestors.
The entries in Unit 1 mainly introduce one or a class of prehistoric animals. In addition, at the end of the book, there is a practical “Paleontological Exploration Tour”, which includes the time line of fossils, the detailed process of paleontologists searching for and studying fossils, and biographies of scholars and searchers who have performed well in the field of paleontology, as well as definitions and indexes of terms that are easy to search.
