每开画心纵26.4、横32.9厘米。《芥子园画传》亦称《芥子园画谱》，共三集，第一集为山水谱，五卷，是由清人王概根据明末画家李流芳画稿增辑而成，并根据李渔金陵别墅“芥子园”的名义出版，完成于康熙十八年(1679)。第二集为兰、竹、梅、菊四谱，共八卷。第三集为草、虫、花卉和翎毛花卉二谱，共四卷，均由王概、王蓍、王泉三兄弟根据杭州画家诸升、王质的画稿增辑而成。二集和三集的编印时间几乎是同时进行，均完成于康熙四十年(1701)。后又有书商于嘉庆二十三年(1818)假冒《芥子园画传》名义出版了第四集人物谱。辽宁省博物馆《芥子园画传》第三集，前有“康熙辛巳岁 (四十年)”，王泽弘序在花卉二谱中都有王蓍序。草虫花卉谱：上册为青在堂画花卉，(草本)草虫浅说和花卉起手式。下册为草虫花卉图画。翎毛花卉谱：上册为青在堂花卉(木本)翎毛浅说和花卉起手式。下册为翎毛花卉图画。末有沈心友设色诸法。芥子园画传是清初为帮助初学绘画人作参考之用的，备受欢迎。
Each opening is 26.4 cm in length and 32.9 cm in width. The Painting Biography of the Mustard Garden, also known as the Painting Manual of the Mustard Garden, consists of three parts. The first part is a landscape painting and five volumes. It was compiled by Wang Gai of the Qing Dynasty according to the painting manuscript of Li Liufang, a painter at the end of the Ming Dynasty. It was published in the name of “Mustard Garden” of Li Yu’s Jinling Villa, and was completed in the 18th year of Kangxi (1679). The second set consists of eight volumes. The third episode is composed of two chapters of grass, insects, flowers and feather flowers. It has four volumes, all of which are compiled by three brothers Wang Gai, Wang Ji and Wang Quan based on the drawings of Hangzhou painters Zhu Sheng and Wang Zhi. The compilation and printing of the second and third episodes were almost carried out at the same time, both completed in the fortieth year of Kangxi (1701). Later, in the 23rd year of Jiaqing’s reign (1818), another bookseller published the fourth episode of the character spectrum in the name of “The Painting Biography of the Mustard Garden”. The third episode of “The Painting Biography of Mustard Garden” in Liaoning Provincial Museum is preceded by “Kangxi Xinsi (40 years old)”, and Wang Zehong’s preface has Wang Ji’s preface in the flower two scores. Flower Manual of Grass Insects: Volume I is about painting flowers in the hall with green flowers. The second volume is a picture of plants, insects and flowers. Plume Flower Manual: The first volume is a brief introduction to the feathers of flowers (woody) in Qingzaitang and the start of flowers. The second volume is Feather Flower Painting. At the end of the day, Shen Xinyou used various methods to set colors. The painting biography of the mustard garden was used as a reference to help beginners in the early Qing Dynasty, and was very popular.
