此新艺术社编《木刻选集》收抗日、解放战争时期延安鲁迅文艺学院美术系创作的版画52幅（套色版画6幅），作者包括有马达、古元、江丰、力群、罗工柳、彦涵、夏风、焦心河、王流秋等人，每幅作品均有中英文标题。此本于1946年由联合书店出版。对延安木刻的整理研究始于解放战争时期。抗日战争胜利后，因战略转移的需要，鲁迅文艺学院师生分为两个工作团，一支赴华北，一支赴东北。赴东北的美术工作者，大多在“东北画报社”工作，国内首次出版介绍延安木刻的画册《木刻选集》，就是由东北画报社编辑、出版的。该选集出版于1946年4月，共收入作品41幅，并附有徐悲鸿盛赞古元的文章“全国木刻展”。另外，该选集为每幅作品配备了内容注解，图文并茂。同年9月，由新艺术社编辑、联合书店出版了同名为《木刻选集》的画册，共收入延安木刻作品52幅，该画册序文虽未署名，但据称是周扬所编。古元，字帝源，中国著名画家、版画家，生于广东省中山县那洲乡。历任北京人民美术出版社创作室主任，中央美术学院教授、院长，中国美术家协会副主席，中国版画家协会副主席。鲁迅艺术学院是抗日战争时期中国共产党为培养抗战文艺干部和文艺工作者而创办的一所综合性文学艺术学校，1940年后更名为“鲁迅艺术文学院”，简称“鲁艺”。 旧址位于延安城东北5公里桥儿沟，一座中世纪城堡式样的大礼堂，每到新年之际这里都举办稀奇迷人的化装舞会。现保存有天主教堂一座和石窑洞数十孔。属1961年国务院颁布的首批全国重点文物保护单位。
The Wood Carving Anthology compiled by the New Art Society collected 52 prints (6 color prints) created by the Department of Fine Arts of the Yan’an Lu Xun Academy of Arts and Literature during the War of Resistance against Japan and the War of Liberation. The authors include Ma Ma, Gu Yuan, Jiang Feng, Li Qun, Luo Gongliu, Yan Han, Xia Feng, Jiao Xinhe, Wang Liuqiu, etc. Each work has Chinese and English titles. This book was published by United Bookstore in 1946. The collation and research of Yan’an woodcut began during the War of Liberation. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, due to the need of strategic transfer, the teachers and students of Lu Xun College of Arts and Arts were divided into two working groups, one to North China and the other to Northeast China. Most of the artists who went to the Northeast worked in the “Northeast Pictorial Press”. The album “Selected Wood Carvings”, which introduced Yan’an wood carving, was first published in China, was edited and published by the Northeast Pictorial Press. This anthology was published in April 1946, with a total of 41 works, and the article “National Woodcut Exhibition” which Xu Beihong praised the ancient Yuan Dynasty was attached. In addition, the anthology is provided with content notes for each work, with pictures and texts. In September of the same year, the United Bookstore, which was edited by the New Art Society, published a picture album with the same name as Selected Wood Carvings, which included 52 pieces of Yan’an wood carving works. Although the preface of the album was not signed, it was said that Zhou Yang had compiled it. Ancient Yuan Dynasty, named Diyuan, is a famous painter and printmaker in China. He was born in Nazhou Township, Zhongshan County, Guangdong Province. He has successively served as the director of the creation room of Beijing People’s Fine Arts Publishing House, professor and president of Central Academy of Fine Arts, vice chairman of China Artists Association, and vice chairman of China Printers Association. Lu Xun Academy of Arts is a comprehensive literature and art school founded by the CPC during the Anti Japanese War to train literary and art cadres and literary and art workers during the war. After 1940, it was renamed “Lu Xun Academy of Arts and Literature”, or “Lu Yi” for short. The old site is located at Qiaoergou, 5 kilometers northeast of Yan’an City. It is a medieval castle style auditorium. Every New Year, there is a fancy fancy dress party. At present, there is a Catholic church and dozens of caves. It is one of the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units issued by the State Council in 1961.
