《民国军服图志》是由中国第二历史档案馆编，由上海书店出版社所出版的图志，据第一手文献资料和丰富的照片图稿，第一次对民国时期各阶段、各派系及各军兵种的军衔军服和相应的佩饰标识等，作出系统的介绍，特以条理清晰、详略得当和文图并茂的特色，为广大专业工作者和文史爱好者提供了权威性参考。
从辛亥革命推翻帝制清朝，到中华人民共和国宣告成立，其间是风云变幻的民国时代，交织着护国战争、护法战争、军阀混战、北伐战争、十年内战、抗日战争、解放战争等一系列重大事件。这个时代特征在典章制度方面的特色，就是军制紊乱，错综复杂。为此，迄民国终结，乃至新中国创立五十多年来，一直没有一部对民国时期军队服饰（含军制军衔军服及各种标识符号）进行系统观照的著述，不仅形成中国军服史研究的缺门，也给影视舞美各界的编创人员带来很多困难。
The Military Uniform Illustrated Records of the Republic of China is a catalog compiled by the Second Historical Archives of China and published by Shanghai Bookstore Publishing House. Based on first-hand literature and rich photo illustrations, it provides a systematic introduction to the military ranks, uniforms, and corresponding decorations of various stages, factions, and branches of the Republic of China period. It is characterized by clear organization, appropriate details, and a combination of text and images, It provides authoritative references for professionals and enthusiasts of literature and history.
From the overthrow of the imperial Qing Dynasty by the Xinhai Revolution to the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, it was a turbulent period of the Republic of China, intertwined with a series of major events such as the War of Protection, the War of Protection, the War of Warlords, the Northern Expedition, the Ten Year Civil War, the War of Resistance Against Japan, and the War of Liberation. The characteristic of this era in terms of regulations and systems is the disorder and complexity of the military system. For this reason, until the end of the Republic of China and even more than 50 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, there has been no systematic review of military clothing (including military ranks, uniforms, and various identification symbols) during the Republic of China period. This not only creates a gap in the study of Chinese military uniform history, but also brings many difficulties to the editors and creators of various fields of film, television, and dance.
