Origami art originated in China. Origami art is a method of folding a complete piece of paper to create various forms of characters, animals, or plants.
Origami art not only has artistic aesthetic value, but also contains mathematical operations and spatial geometry principles; Before folding, mathematical operations are required to complete the origami work.
Its manifestations in daily life include cross dimensional origami phenomena such as the flowers and leaves of plants, solar panels of spacecraft, and parachutes.
Origami originated in China and its history can be traced back to 583 AD. When Buddhist monks traveled from China to Japan via Korea, they brought a lot of paper with them. Due to the high cost of paper at that time, they were particularly careful when using it, and origami became a part of ceremonial communication. The art of origami has been passed down from generation to generation since then.
Origami can inspire people’s creativity and logical thinking, and also promote hand brain coordination. In its decades of development, through the unremitting efforts of a new generation of origami artists, modern origami technology has reached an unprecedented level. It is difficult for people to imagine that a completely uncut square paper can be folded into complex and lifelike origami works. Therefore, modern origami is no longer just a children’s game, but also a challenging and thought-provoking physical and mental activity. The complex patterns created by experts using paper, cleverly deformed without glue or scissors, ultimately result in realistic animal and paper sculptures, such as octopuses, snakes, and dancers, far from simple boxes or flowers.
