祝由科，也称祝由、祝由术、咒禁科、中医十三科等，祝由科是中国古时治病十三科中的一科。中国古时治病有十三科，“祝由科”乃其中之一科。清袁枚《新齐谐·治妖易治人难》：“汉阳令刘某，性方鲠，治祝由科邪教过严，有奸民上控抚军，抚军戒饬之。”《二十年目睹之怪现状》第三一回：“那祝由科代人治病，不用吃药，只画两道符就好了。”参见“ 祝由 ”。祝由之法，即包括中草药在内的，借符咒禁禳来治疗疾病的一种方法。“祝”者咒也，“由”者病的原由也。“祝由”的概念很广，包括禁法、咒法、祝法、符法，以及暗示疗法、心理疗法、催眠疗法、音乐疗法等，并非仅仅祝其病由而愈其病。有些病原因已明，可是祝之不愈，这说明祝法不起作用，就要改用禁法，或符法，或配合药物治疗。

The method of blessing, including Chinese herbal medicine, is a method of curing diseases by means of incantation and taboo. “Zhu” is the curse, and “by” is the cause of disease. The concept of “blessing” is very broad, including forbidden Dharma, mantra, blessing Dharma, symbol Dharma, as well as hint therapy, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, music therapy and so on. It is not just wishing for the cause of the disease to heal it. The cause of some diseases has been clarified, but the disease cannot be cured, which means that the method of blessing does not work, so we should use the forbidden method, or the coincidence method, or cooperate with drug treatment.
